Shirley Daniel
Description
Shirley J. Daniel, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita of Accountancy in the Shidler College of Business Administration at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University. Prior to her graduate studies, Dr. Daniel was an audit manager for an international accounting firm. Shirley is a licensed CPA, past president of the Hawaii Society of CPAs, and a member of FEI, IMA, and the Hawai'i Chapter of Women Corporate Directors. She served on the board and audit committee of Hawaiian Electric Industries (NYSE: HE) from 2002-2011, and on the Board of Directors and audit committee of American Savings Bank in Hawai'I, a wholly owned subsidiary of HEI, from 2005 to 2020. Dr. Daniel provides executive training and expertise on corporate and not-for-profit governance.
