Glen Aoki
Description
Glen started his 10-year public accounting career at Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers) as an auditor. Glen specialized in financial services, not-for-profit, hospitality, real estate and construction industries. Following his public accounting career, Glen held senior finance positions over a 16-year span serving two of the largest financial institutions in Hawaii. Glen served in various leadership roles including overseeing SEC financial reporting, accounting policy, compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, budgeting, forecasting and product profitability.
Glen has recently started his own practice focusing on providing fractional (part-time) Controller or CFO services with a focus on Hawaii’s not-for-profit industry. Some of the services that Glen provides to his clients include the following: 1) monthly review of financial statements, with variance explanations for the Executive Director and Board; 2) preparation of a rolling 12-month cash flow forecast; 3) leads the preparation of the annual budget; 3) review monthly balance sheet reconciliations; 4) review journal entries to ensure compliance with GAAP; 4) assess the internal control environment of an organization and recommend changes, if necessary; 5) serve as the primary liaison with external auditors; 6) prepare or review periodic and annual general excise tax forms.
